01 INTRODUCTION & OVERVIEW

BookerMania is a complete fictional wrestling universe for Pro Wrestling Sim, built from the ground up with 25+ years of lore, deep rosters, and a world designed to feel alive from the moment you load it.

The save is optimized to begin on January 1st, 2026. Promotions, workers, and future prospects have been seeded through approximately 2050, at which point the game's natural worker generation will start filling gaps. If you want to extend beyond that window, you can activate dormant workers or add new ones via the save editor.

A few things to know upfront:

Worker variety: Every effort has been made to minimize faceless generated workers, but results vary based on spawn settings, simulation speed, and whether you modify the default companies.
Training schools: BookerMania includes 10 training schools with custom alumni pools. Even so, the engine may occasionally generate graduates without photos — see the Worker Generation section.
This is a living mod: It will be updated. Check the subforum for patch notes and additions.

💡 New to PWS? Check the Starting Your Save section before you load in — a few settings at game start significantly affect your long-term experience.
02 STARTING YOUR SAVE

BookerMania works best when set up with a few things in mind before you start booking.

1
Don't change the default start date. The game defaults to January 1, 2026 — which is exactly what this mod is built around. Just leave it as-is for the optimized experience.
2
Leave worker generation at the default "Low" setting. The game defaults to Low, and that's what we recommend. Increasing it will flood the game with generated workers faster than the custom roster can cover.
3
On the start screen, we recommend enabling: Auto Set Network Deal Income, Auto Set Contract Pricing, and Aging Effects. Owner Goals and other options are entirely up to you. Everything else can stay at its default.
4
Advanced Stats mode: This mod was built in PWS's original stats mode. If you'd like to use Advanced Stats, you can enable it after starting your save via Edit Save → Game World → Advanced Stats. The game will randomly fill in the extended stats — they won't be hand-tuned, but the mode is fully playable and worth trying if you prefer it.
5
Choose your promotion before simming. If you plan to sim years before taking control, AI bookers will make their own decisions about titles and pushes. Taking control from Day 1 preserves the intended world state best.
6
Smaller promotions have inactive TV shows by default. If you grow an indie to weekly TV scale, the show slot is already configured — just activate it in the promotion editor.
7
Review the active roster before your first show. Some workers start on hiatus, injured, or under limited contracts. This is intentional world-building, not a bug.
💡 Playing GWD, RCW, or IPW? These are the most fully built-out promotions with the deepest event logo libraries, the longest title histories, and the most worker depth. Recommended starting points for new players.
03 WORKER PHOTOS & THE AGING SYSTEM

Many workers in BookerMania have multiple photos that change over time as your save progresses. A younger worker may look different in 2026 than they do in 2045. Not every worker has aging photos, and those that do won't all have the same number of stages — it varies by worker.

How it works: Each photo entry is tied to a date range. When the in-game date crosses the threshold, the worker's displayed photo updates automatically. No action needed on your part.

Want to add your own aging photos? You can generate new versions of any worker image yourself using AI tools (see the AI Images section), drop the file into the worker image folder, and assign it via Edit Save. It's easy to do and a great way to customize your save.

Workers without any aging photos keep a single image throughout their career. Most announcers, referees, and road agents fall into this category — they're functional characters, not long-term storytelling subjects.

💡 Want to age a worker who doesn't have extra photos? Drop their current image into Gemini and say "Make this character 20 years older." See the AI Images section for the full workflow.
04 DEAD WORKERS & GREYSCALE IMAGES

Workers who begin the save already deceased are displayed with greyscale photos as a visual indicator. This is a BookerMania convention — not a built-in PWS feature — that you can maintain, modify, or ignore entirely.

For workers expected to die during your save: BookerMania includes greyscale versions for workers who are likely (though not certain) to pass away before 2075. These have a photo swap trigger set for January 1st, 2075 as a fallback.

If a worker dies before their scheduled swap: Go to the save editor, find the worker, and manually switch their photo to the Name_dead version. It's already in the photos folder.

If a worker outlives 2075: Same process in reverse — swap back to their living photo via the editor.

Workers without a _dead version are either not expected to die within the game timeline, or were omitted for simplicity. Creating one is easy with any image editor or AI tool — just desaturate the image.

Announcers and referees generally do not have greyscale versions. They're functional characters, not long-term storytelling subjects.

⚠️ If you don't want to maintain this system, you may need to adjust a handful of workers around 2075 when their photo swaps trigger on schedule regardless of in-game status.

05 EVENT LOGOS & TV SHOWS

Every promotion ships with fully designed event logos already assigned. Your shows look like real productions from Day 1 with no setup required.

Bonus logos: Most companies have extra logo variants in reserve. If you don't like an event name or want to rotate looks, alternates are ready to assign. Big annual shows often have special edition versions too.

GWD and UPW have the largest bonus libraries. UPW's Climax show includes a full set of numbered episode logos for long-term continuity.

TV shows: Every promotion has a weekly TV show configured. Smaller companies have theirs set inactive by default. If you grow an indie to weekly TV status, activate the existing slot in the promotion editor rather than creating a new one.

💡 You can add your own logos at any time — drop an image in the game's images folder and assign it in the editor. Nothing here locks you out of customizing.
🏞 Venues note: BookerMania currently includes US domestic venues only. A separate venue pack with additional domestic and international venues is in the works — it will be compatible with both new saves and saves already in progress.
06 WORKER GENERATION

BookerMania is built to carry you to approximately 2045–2050 before AI-generated, photo-less workers start appearing in notable numbers. The custom roster is densest in the early years and thins gradually — mirroring how a real wrestling world evolves through retirements and new blood.

Training schools are set up with custom alumni pools to feed prospects into the game organically. However, the game's school generation system may still occasionally produce workers without photos. This is a PWS engine behavior that can't be fully controlled at the mod level.

To minimize blank-head workers:
• Keep your new worker spawn rate at a moderate setting
• Don't delete or deactivate training schools
• Be aware that adding new promotions increases demand for generated workers
• After 2050, plan to add custom workers periodically to keep pace with retirements

07 GENERATING NEW IMAGES WITH AI

When you need new worker photos — to fill generated worker gaps or add aged versions of existing workers — the creator recommends Gemini with this prompt, which produces results consistent with BookerMania's visual style:

Generate a unique, realistic 3D rendered headshot of a fictional, active professional wrestler (male or female, age 20+). The image must be on a plain white background, headshot ONLY (no body shot), and feature no championship titles, no visible tattoos, NO scars of any kind and no torn garments unless I ask for them, and no neck or shoulder accessories. Vary the character's appearance, expression, and in-ring wrestling attire though most of the men can just be shirtless. Vary up the designs enough that everyone feels like a different personality, but keep them all realistic characters that you might see in today's professional wrestling world. They should be in a 3D rendered style.

After generating, crop and resize the image to match the dimensions of existing worker photos for visual consistency. The game accepts varying sizes but uniform dimensions look cleaner.

Aging existing workers: Drop the current photo into Gemini and say: "Make this character 50 years old, keeping the same general look and 3D rendering style." This is how the existing aged versions in BookerMania were created.

Creating greyscale (dead) versions: In Photoshop use Image → Adjustments → Desaturate. In Gemini: "Convert this image to greyscale." ChatGPT can handle this too.

Once you have your image, add it to the game's people/photos folder and assign it to the worker via the in-game or save editor.

💡 Gemini is particularly good at maintaining character consistency. Show it an existing worker photo and ask for modifications — it tends to respect the original look well.
08 RANDOM EVENTS

BookerMania includes 251 random events built directly into the save. These are the latest version of the creator's standalone Random Events Pack — no separate subscription needed. They're already active.

Random events fire in the background while you book: injuries, scandals, surprise signings, contract disputes, crowd incidents, locker room drama, and more. They're designed to create interesting disruption without breaking your game.

You don't need to configure anything. If you want to adjust frequency or disable specific events, that can be done through PWS's event settings in-game.

💡 The standalone Random Events Pack is also available separately on the Steam Workshop if you'd like to use it with a different save.

09 FAQ
Q: A generated worker showed up with no photo. What do I do?
Normal, especially after 2045. Use the AI image prompt above to generate one, or borrow a placeholder from the people folder. Assign it via the editor.
Q: A worker's photo didn't update when it should have.
Photo swaps are date-triggered. Confirm the in-game date has passed the transition point. If it has and the photo hasn't updated, re-open the worker's profile in the editor to refresh it.
Q: A living worker is showing a greyscale photo.
Their 2075 death-photo trigger may have fired early, or you're looking at a worker who begins the save deceased. Check their photo timeline in the editor and swap back if needed.
Q: Title history seems incomplete or wrong.
Some older promotions have abbreviated records due to data limitations. The history is representative, not exhaustive. The earliest recorded reign is 1975.
Q: My small promotion can't afford weekly TV but the slot is there.
Leave it inactive. The slot is a placeholder for when you grow into it. Activating it prematurely will hurt your finances.
Q: Can I add a promotion that doesn't exist in the mod?
Yes — the editor supports this fully. Just be aware that adding companies increases demand for generated workers and may accelerate blank-head generation.
Q: Is BookerMania compatible with other mods or roster packs?
Technically yes, but mixing with other full-universe saves isn't recommended. Adding individual workers or titles from another source is generally fine.
Q: I found a bug or something seems broken. Where do I report it?
Post in the BookerMania subforum on the PSW Discord. Include your game version and as much detail as you can.
Q: Will there be updates to the mod?
Yes. More workers, more events, more random events, and refinements over time. Watch the subforum for patch notes.
